Salesperson License Requirements
Individuals who perform acts of real estate services in Louisiana must be licensed by the Real Estate Commission. A salesperson license gives you the ability to work in the office of a real estate broker as an employee or independent contractor. For the purposes of the License Professor, a salesperson is similar to sales agents in other states. Minimum Requirements to Apply for the Salesperson License
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have obtained a high school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED).
- Show proof of successful completion of ninety (90) hours of real estate education in courses approved by the LREC.
- Comply with all application procedures required by the LREC.
- Pass the real estate salesperson licensing examination.
- Be sponsored by a licensed real estate broker, if Active license is granted and provide proof of errors and omissions insurance prior to license issuance.

Broker License Requirements
A Louisiana Real Estate Broker License is required of individuals who want to who perform acts of real estate services in Louisiana. A broker license would allow you to operate your own real estate business or act as a broker for a corporation or partnership.
